2nd Street is a kitesurfing spot on the east coast of Tybee Island, in the center of the island, facing the Atlantic. This spot offers beach access with typical Tybee ocean conditions. The beach is wide with fine sand. Central position on the island offering a good compromise between north and south end conditions. Less current than the North End, while still benefiting from good exposure to swells and coastal winds.
Atlantic Ocean with moderate waves. Conditions vary with tide — sandbars at low tide, waves at high tide. Tidal currents less strong than at the ends of the island. Warm water from May to October. Sandy bottom.

Tidal currents. Frequent swimmers in summer. Jellyfish and sharks in coastal waters. Significant tidal range. Thunderstorms possible in summer. Respect designated swimming zones.
