Porpoise Point is located at the northern tip of Anastasia Island, near St. Augustine Inlet. The spot offers Atlantic access with the option to ride in the protected inlet waters on the west side. The proximity to St. Augustine Inlet creates dynamic conditions with tidal currents. The St. Augustine Lighthouse (1874) is visible from the spot.
Two zones: ocean side (east) with Atlantic waves, and inlet side (west) with calmer water but tidal currents. Sandy bottom. Constantly shifting sandbars near the inlet. Strong currents during tide changes in the channel.
