Overview

Stuart Beach is the main beach of the city of Stuart, on Hutchinson Island. The east-facing Atlantic beach offers golden sand and kitesurfing conditions typical of the Treasure Coast. Stuart is nicknamed the "Sailfish Capital of the World" for its sailfish fishing. The spot is well-equipped with parking, showers and public facilities.

Atlantic waters with moderate waves. Sandy bottom. Longshore drift current. Offshore Gulf Stream warming the waters. Good northeast swell in winter. Possible submerged reefs offshore.

Hazards

Longshore and rip currents. Sharks present (sailfish and baitfish attract predators). Jellyfish and Portuguese man-of-war. Swimmers on the beach. Sea turtles during nesting season.
