Pass-a-Grille Beach is located at the southern tip of Long Key (St. Pete Beach), near the Pass-a-Grille Channel separating Long Key from Shell Key. It is one of the most historic beach communities on the Gulf coast of Florida. The position at the southern tip provides exposure to south winds in addition to prevailing west winds, with views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Tampa Bay entrance.
