Dog Island is an isolated barrier island off Carrabelle, in the Big Bend area of Florida. Accessible only by boat, the island offers pristine south-facing beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. Dog Island is one of the last undeveloped barrier islands in Florida. Kitesurfing here is an adventure reserved for advanced and self-sufficient riders.

Extremely isolated island — no rescue services. Access only by boat. Very strong currents in the passes. Frequent sharks. No fresh water or shelter on the island. Alligators possible on the bay side. Reserved for self-sufficient experts.
