Overview

Alligator Point is a narrow peninsula on the Big Bend coast of Florida, east of Apalachicola Bay. This isolated spot is located in a wild area between the tourist Panhandle and the Nature Coast. The peninsula is exposed to south and southeast winds. Advanced spot due to isolation, currents and lack of rescue services.

Very isolated area without rescue services. Frequent sharks (bull sharks in the area). Alligators possible in brackish water zones. Tidal currents. Muddy bottom. Limited road access — road sometimes flooded.
