Tourmaline Beach (nicknamed "Turmo") is a kitesurfing spot located between Pacific Beach and La Jolla in San Diego, California. This beach is an iconic location in San Diego's water sports scene, known for its relaxed vibe and accessible conditions. West to northwest thermal winds blow regularly in the afternoon. The spot benefits from San Diego's mild climate and some of the warmest water in California.
Ocean beach spot with waves of 0.3 to 1.5m. Moderate shore break. Water is among the warmest in California (15-22°C/59-72°F), shorty or 3/2 depending on season. Sandy bottom with some rocks toward the south (La Jolla direction). Spacious riding area offshore. Tourmaline reef can create interesting waves for wave riding.
