Riding in Puget Sound with cold saltwater (8-14°C/46-57°F) requiring a 4/3 to 5/3mm wetsuit depending on season. Light to moderate chop depending on wind and tidal currents. Rocky bottom with sections of sand and pebbles. Tidal currents can be significant and influence riding conditions.

Hazards

Cold Puget Sound water — hypothermia risk without proper wetsuit. Heavy maritime traffic including Washington State Ferries (Fauntleroy-Vashon route). Tidal currents can carry riders. Rocks and driftwood on the beach. Busy public park — watch for walkers and swimmers. Railroad tracks run along the park.
