Lohals is at the northern tip of Langeland, facing the Great Belt (Storebælt). Nordstrand beach offers fine sand surrounded by forest. West side: shallow, protected water, beginner conditions in W/NW/SW winds. East side: water gets deep quickly with Great Belt currents — reserved for experienced riders.

West side: shallow water with sandy bottom, flat to small chop. Sandbanks with varying depths. East side: depth increases rapidly, Great Belt currents. Temperature: 18-23°C in summer, 8-13°C in spring. Wetsuit always required.
Strong currents from the Great Belt (Storebælt) — check conditions with the SejlSikker app before each session. Large vessel traffic in the strait. Deep water quickly on the east side. Unsupervised spot — no school or rescue services at Lohals.
