Emma Wood is a kitesurfing spot located west of Ventura, California, along Emma Wood State Beach. This coastal spot benefits from a south-facing orientation along the Santa Barbara Channel with regular west afternoon thermal winds. The beach is quieter than downtown Ventura spots and offers a more natural setting with coastal hills as a backdrop.
Ocean spot with waves of 0.3 to 1.5m, moderate thanks to partial protection from the Santa Barbara Channel. Water is temperate (13-19°C/55-66°F), a 3/2 wetsuit is recommended. Mixed sand and cobble bottom with rocks in places. The offshore Channel Islands influence swells. Moderate drift currents along the coast.
