Hermosa Beach Pier — obstacle, keep your distance. Extremely busy area with surfers, swimmers, volleyball players, and beachgoers. Drift currents along the beach. Strict regulations on kite zones — check before each session, fines possible. Shore break on swell days. Proximity to Manhattan Beach Pier to the north.
