This ocean beach spot is nestled at the mouth of Topanga Canyon, offering a spectacular natural setting. West to northwest thermal winds blow in the afternoon, but the canyon can create variable wind conditions. The spot is suited for advanced riders due to rocks, kelp, and currents.

Ocean spot with waves of 0.5 to 2m depending on swell. Water is temperate (14-20°C/57-68°F), a 3/2 wetsuit is recommended. Mixed rocky and sandy bottom with significant rock outcrops. Frequent kelp beds offshore. Drift currents along the coast, intensified at the canyon mouth. The spot has been renowned for surfing since the 1960s.
Submerged rocks and reefs — major danger, scout the area carefully. Dense kelp that can tangle in lines and fins. Topanga Canyon creating unpredictable wind channeling effects. Drift currents and frequent rip currents. Shared area with local surfers — respect priorities. Possible rockfall from cliffs. Limited parking along PCH.
