Sunset Beach is a kitesurfing spot located between Huntington Beach and Seal Beach in Orange County, California. This quieter beach offers a more relaxed atmosphere than neighboring Huntington Beach while benefiting from the same reliable southwest to northwest afternoon thermal winds. The beach is wide with plenty of rigging space and wave conditions are generally moderate, making it an accessible spot.

Ocean beach spot with waves of 0.3 to 1.5m. Moderate shore break. Water is temperate (14-21°C/57-70°F), a 3/2 wetsuit is recommended. Sandy bottom with sandbars. Spacious riding area offshore. Conditions are similar to neighboring Huntington Beach spots but with fewer crowds.
Drift currents along the beach. Shore break can be surprising on swell days. Shared area with surfers and swimmers. Anaheim Bay harbor entrance channel to the north — regulated navigation zone, keep your distance. Local regulations on kite zones to follow.
