Huntington Beach, nicknamed "Surf City USA", is one of the most iconic kitesurfing spots in Southern California, in Orange County. This massive sandy beach offers perfect conditions with regular southwest to northwest afternoon thermal winds and moderate-sized waves. The spot is ideal for intermediate riders thanks to its wide beach, sandy bottom, and generally predictable conditions.

Ocean beach spot with average waves of 0.5 to 1.5m. Moderate shore break. Water is temperate (14-21°C/57-70°F), a 3/2 wetsuit is recommended. Sandy bottom with sandbars. Very wide riding area offshore. Conditions are regular and predictable on most windy days. South swells in summer, northwest swells in winter.
Huntington Beach Pier — major obstacle, keep a large safety distance. Extremely busy area with surfers, swimmers, and beachgoers. Drift currents along the beach. Strict municipal regulations on kite zones — respect marked boundaries or face fines. Shore break on swell days. Frequent surf competitions may limit access.
