State Park is a kitesurf spot on Lake Havasu, a Colorado River reservoir on the Arizona-California border. This wide lake offers excellent conditions with consistent afternoon thermal winds. Lake Havasu State Park features a large sandy beach, launch areas, and numerous amenities. Very popular destination for water sports. Main season from April to October. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 43°C.
Clear freshwater. Water temperature from 10°C in winter to 28°C in summer. Wide lake providing good wind fetch. Moderate chop in thermal winds. Sandy bottom near State Park beach. Shorty or rashguard in summer, 3/2 wetsuit in spring/fall. Marked swimming area to respect.

Extreme summer heat (43°C+): heat stroke and dehydration can be lethal — bring plenty of water. Very heavy boat traffic (jet skis, party boats), especially weekends and holidays. Rattlesnakes in rocky areas. Violent thunderstorms possible in summer (Arizona monsoon) with lightning. Colorado River current in some sections. State Park entrance fee required.
