Kauksi is a popular beach on the western shore of Lake Peipus, Europe's fifth-largest lake. The lake forms the border between Estonia and Russia.

The sandy beach faces east towards the vast lake. Easterly winds are most favourable. Lake Peipus offers an immense water surface (3,555 km²) with conditions that can resemble an inland sea in strong winds.

Kauksi is a popular summer resort in north-eastern Estonia. The season runs from May to October. The spot suits intermediates, as the lake can become rough in strong winds.
