Lido di Cannobio is located on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore, in the charming town of Cannobio near the Swiss border. The spot benefits from the characteristic thermal winds of Lake Maggiore. Lago Maggiore offers a vast body of water with reliable thermal wind conditions in summer. The Tramontana (north wind) blows in the morning and the Inverna (south wind) in the afternoon, providing regular sessions.

Parking
Municipal parking in Cannobio, near the lido. Paid parking in season. Free parking available a little further away in residential streets.
Wind specificities
Classic thermal system of the great Alpine lakes: north wind (Tramontana) in the morning, then rotation to the south (Inverna) in the afternoon. The best sessions are between 1pm and 5pm with the Inverna. In unsettled weather, the Foehn (north) can blow very strongly.
Hazards
The lake can be rough in sustained wind with short, steep waves. Watch out for boat and ferry traffic. The wind can drop suddenly at the end of the day.
