Water sports spot located at the Île de Loisirs des Boucles de Seine, some 75 km north-west of Paris in the Yvelines department. The lake was created in an old quarry, covering 120 hectares, 3 km long and 900 m wide, with an average depth of 5 m. Firm gravel bed. Algae may develop in summer – it is worth calling the base ahead of your visit. Vast parking areas and wide lawns for rigging.
Open all year round

From Paris: A13 motorway towards Caen, take the Mantes toll exit, then follow signs for the Île de Loisirs des Boucles de Seine in Moisson. Large free car park at the leisure base.
Best wind directions: South-West and West. North-East can work well if it passes through the two cliffs on the eastern shore, giving more regular and planning-friendly conditions than other Île-de-France lakes. North-West is to be avoided – very gusty and irregular.
Wind can be very gusty and irregular, especially from North-East and North-West, due to the trees surrounding the lake. Kite use is allowed but conditions are often better suited to windsurf and wingfoil. Watch for other water users (windsurfers, sailors). Entry fee applies in season.
