Berdyansk is a seaside city on the Sea of Azov in the Zaporizhia Oblast. The kitesurfing spot is located on the Berdyansk Spit (Berdyanska Kosa), a long sand spit extending several kilometers into the Sea of Azov.

The spit offers the possibility to ride on both sides: the open sea side with small chop or the inner bay side with flat and shallow water. The Sea of Azov water is very warm in summer (25-28°C) and the bottom is sandy.

Wind is consistent, mainly from the southwest and west. Berdyansk has good tourist infrastructure.
