IJmuiderslag (Zone 3) is an extension of the IJmuiden Zuidpier kitespot, south of Zone 1 and 2. It is open year-round and has a massive beach with a relaxed, community-driven atmosphere. Zone 3 is the designated kite zone; Zone 4 is closed during high season. A 40m strip above the tideline is always reserved for walkers.
On-site facilities: Beach Inn (open 7 days/year-round), Hightide Surf & Food (bar, showers, changing rooms, BBQ, live music), APEX Adventures school and official PLKB test center. Blue Flag beach.
Parking at the top of the beach entrance (2–4h limit in summer). Alternative: large parking on Heerenduinweg (all-day in summer).

Park at top of steep access road — ~300m descent to beach. Summer: 2h max free then re-pay every 2h. Alternative: park at Zuidpier (Zone 1) and walk along beach. GPS: IJmuiderslag, IJmuiden, Noord-Holland. Access from A9/A22 direction IJmuiden then beach.

North Sea — choppy to light waves. Currents in Zone 3 can be strong offshore. Year-round. Cold: 3/2mm summer, 5/4mm winter.
Top of beach entrance: 2–4h limit in summer. Large Heerenduinweg parking: all-day in summer. Note: steep walk down (and back up) to the beach.
SW/W/NW/N/NE all onshore. SW dominant. Consistent sea breeze year-round. Best Oct–Mar. Zone 3 more exposed than Zone 1. Good for after-work sessions from Amsterdam.
Zone 3 only — Zone 4 is closed in high season. Currents in Zone 3 can be strong. 40m strip above the tideline always free for walkers. Beachgoers in summer — arrive early. Long walk to the beach from parking (steep descent/ascent).
