Carnarvon is a kitesurfing spot located on the northwest coast of Western Australia, at the mouth of the Gascoyne River. This tropical town offers kitesurfing conditions with warm waters year-round and regular winds. Carnarvon is an important stopover on the route between Perth and Exmouth.
The prevailing south to southeast winds blow regularly during the dry season (April to October). Thermal breezes strengthen the winds in summer. The water is relatively flat in sheltered areas. The spot is suitable for intermediate riders.
Carnarvon has full services (accommodation, restaurants, shops). Parking is beachfront. Watch out for tides, jellyfish in season and possible saltwater crocodiles in the estuary.
Open all year round
