Roseneath is a kitesurfing spot located on Lake Wellington, the largest inland lake in Gippsland, Victoria. This vast freshwater body offers a flat and spacious water area, ideal for freeriding and freestyle. The lake is particularly suited for beginners and intermediates thanks to the absence of waves and currents.
The prevailing southwest to west winds cross the lake unobstructed, providing consistent and clean wind. In summer, thermal breezes strengthen the southwest flow in the afternoon. The water is shallow near the shores, which makes the spot safer for practice.
Access is via the town of Roseneath. Parking is available at the lake's edge. Being an inland lake, there are no tides or ocean currents, making it a very safe spot for learning.
