South Head Lagoon is an isolated spot located at the southern tip of the Kaipara Harbour entrance, northwest of Auckland. This lagoon offers a body of water sheltered from ocean swells, with flat water sailing conditions.
W, NW and SW winds are dominant in this exposed area. The spot is suitable for advanced riders due to its isolation and the strong currents at the harbour entrance. Kaipara Harbour is the largest natural harbour in the Southern Hemisphere. Access via rural roads.
