Dampier is a kitesurfing spot located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, near Karratha. This industrial-port spot nevertheless offers interesting sailing conditions in the warm waters of northwest Australia. In summer, winds come mainly from the west and northwest in the late afternoon, while winter brings more reliable southeast winds. Conditions are generally lighter than in southern Western Australia. Watch out for significant tides and currents in this area.
