Five Mile Beach is a kitesurfing spot located near Hobart in Tasmania, adjacent to Seven Mile Beach. This sandy beach offers similar conditions to its longer neighbour, with good exposure to the prevailing winds. The prevailing wind comes from the northwest to west in summer. Waves are moderate in Frederick Henry Bay. The bottom is sandy and the beach offers good space for setup and sailing. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediate riders. The water is cold, a thick wetsuit is required. Parking and easy access from Hobart. It is a convenient complement to Seven Mile Beach.
