Overview

Whyalla is a kitesurfing spot located in the Spencer Gulf in South Australia. This spot is a duplicate of the Whyalla spot (ID 3241) and covers the same sailing area in the sheltered waters of the Spencer Gulf. The prevailing wind comes from the south to southwest in summer. The waters of the Spencer Gulf are calm and shallow, offering good conditions for riders of all levels. The bottom is sandy. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediate riders. Whyalla offers all the amenities of a regional town. It is also a famous location for observing giant cuttlefish in winter.
