Overview

Ninety Mile Beach (Te Oneroa-a-Tohe) is a legendary kitesurfing spot located on the west coast of the Far North, in Northland. This immense beach stretches for nearly 90 km along the Tasman Sea, offering unparalleled space for sailing and landkiting in New Zealand. The prevailing winds come from the west to northwest, blowing onshore from the Tasman Sea with consistency. Southwest winds are side-shore. The beach is exceptionally wide at low tide, allowing landkiting on the firm sand. The Tasman Sea swell generates powerful waves. Isolation is total on large portions of the beach. Spot for intermediate to advanced riders who are self-sufficient and experienced.
