Ruakaka River Mouth is a kitesurfing spot located at the mouth of the Ruakaka River, on the east coast of Northland, south of Whangarei. The beach faces east, towards the Pacific Ocean. Northeast to east winds are onshore and the most frequent. Southeast winds are side-shore. Watch out for currents at the river mouth. The sandy beach is wide. The swell can be significant. Spot for intermediate riders.
