Overview

Walenstadt is a launch point on Walensee, an alpine lake with turquoise waters situated between the cantons of St. Gallen and Glarus. The lake is nestled between high mountains that channel the winds. The westerly thermal wind is reliable in the afternoon during summer, and the southerly Föhn can create strong conditions. The mountain setting is impressive.
