Overview

Marennes is a kitesurf spot on the Charente coast near the Seudre estuary, facing the Ile d'Oléron. The sheltered position on the eastern side gives flat water in northeast and northwest winds. Strong tidal range — sessions only around mid to high tide. A local spot in the heart of the famous Marennes-Oléron oyster production area.
