Okhotskoe is a kitesurfing spot on the east coast of Sakhalin Island, facing the Sea of Okhotsk, near Okhotskoye village. It is one of Sakhalin's most exposed spots, offering open sea conditions.
The beach is long and sandy, providing plenty of launching space. The water body is open to the Sea of Okhotsk with chop and sometimes swell. Bottom is sandy.
Prevailing winds come from the south and east. The spot is exposed to Pacific low-pressure systems bringing strong winds. Season is short, July to September. Water is very cold (8-16°C), thick wetsuit or semi-dry essential. Spot reserved for advanced riders.
