Sakhalin's west coast offers sandy beaches exposed to west and southwest winds from the Sea of Japan. The water body is open with frequent chop.
Prevailing winds blow from the west and southwest. Season is short, July to September. Water is cold (10-18°C), full wetsuit required. Remote spot, self-sufficiency recommended.
