Herakleio Kite Beach is the dedicated kitesurfing spot in the Heraklion area, on the north coast of Crete. Located next to Amoudara, this spot benefits from the same onshore Meltemi conditions but in an area more suited for kite practice.
The north-facing beach receives the Meltemi directly, offering reliable conditions in summer. The space is better organized for kitesurfing than adjacent tourist beaches.
Area more dedicated to kitesurfing than neighboring tourist beaches. Launching from sand. Sailing space along the north coast. Kite schools may operate here in season.
Open water with onshore chop. Sandy bottom. Progressive depth. Clear warm Sea of Crete water.

Parking near the beach. Less touristically developed area than central Amoudara. Heraklion and all its services in close proximity.
Coastal current possible. Maritime traffic from Heraklion port. Respect swimming zones if swimmers are present. Airport proximity – do not fly too high.
Onshore Meltemi from N/NNW, 15-25 knots from June to September. Conditions identical to Amoudara. Wind is well established by early afternoon and can remain strong until late day in peak summer.
