Faliraki is a popular seaside resort on the east coast of Rhodes, mainly known for its nightlife and tourist beaches. The kitesurfing spot at Faliraki is on the east coast, sheltered from the dominant NW Meltemi. Kiting is only possible with SE to S winds, which are relatively rare in summer (these winds occur mainly in spring and autumn, or during weather disturbances). Faliraki is therefore not a reliable kite spot in peak season, but can offer occasional sessions with south winds.
Faliraki only works with SE to S wind. The large sandy beach offers plenty of space. Very touristy resort — heavy cohabitation with swimmers and water activities. Kiting is not the main activity here. No dedicated kite center. Sail away from swimming zones.
Aegean Sea east coast (Levantine Sea), 22-27°C in summer. Water generally calmer than the west coast. Lycra or shorty. Sandy bottom. In south wind, moderate chop.

Large parking at Faliraki — well-equipped seaside resort. Many public and private parking areas. Easy access from Rhodes Town (15km). Regular buses in season.
Intense cohabitation with swimmers, jet-skis, pedal boats — very busy tourist resort. No kite center or specialized rescue. Irregular and rare wind — don't count on this spot for regular sessions. In strong south wind, conditions can change quickly.
Faliraki is sheltered from the NW Meltemi by Rhodes' mountains. Kitesurfing only works here with SE to S winds, side-onshore on this east coast. These conditions are rare in summer (NW Meltemi dominance) but possible in spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November) or during weather disturbances. When south wind blows, it can reach 15-22 knots. Not a reliable spot for planning a kite trip in summer.
