Vravrona Bay (Brauron) is a spot on the east coast of Attica, in a bay near the archaeological site of ancient Brauron. The bay offers partially protected water facing NE/E, receiving the Meltemi as side-onshore.
Less crowded than Schinias, this spot offers a more natural setting with the Vravrona wetlands nearby. Conditions are similar to other east Attica coast spots — reliable summer Meltemi with moderately protected water.
Sessions from June to September with the Meltemi. The bay partially protects the water, offering accessible conditions. Good spot for progression between the flat conditions of the south Riviera and the more committed conditions of Schinias.
Semi-protected bay water. Moderate chop in Meltemi (20-40cm). Sandy bottom with some rocky areas. Clear water. Temperature: 22-26°C in summer. Progressive depth in the bay.
Intermediate
Open all year round
Parking near the beach and along the coastal road. Low-urbanization area with the protected Vravrona wetlands nearby. Access from Athens in about 40 min. Archaeological site of Brauron to visit. Some local tavernas.
Rocks on the sides of the bay. Protected wetland area — do not disturb wildlife. Moderate currents at the bay entrance. Some sea urchins on bottom rocks. Little organized lifeguard coverage.
N/NNE Meltemi side-onshore, 12-20 knots in summer. The bay offers slight protection that reduces chop compared to more exposed beaches. NE thermal reinforces the Meltemi in the afternoon. Slightly gentler conditions than Schinias or Trolly thanks to the bay shape.
