Ftelia Bay is a historic windsurfing and kitesurfing spot on the north coast of Mykonos. This north-facing bay receives the N/NNE Meltemi fully onshore with the entire Aegean fetch, creating significant wave conditions. Ftelia is renowned as one of the windiest and most committed spots on Mykonos. Waves can reach 1-2m in strong Meltemi, making it a prime spot for wave-riding. The setting is spectacular with Mykonos' arid hills in the background. Reserved for advanced riders.
Ftelia works with the N/NNE Meltemi onshore. It's a wave spot — the riding area is rough with chop and waves. No protected zone for beginners. Wave riders use the waves for surfing and jumps. No major kite center — riders use the Duotone Pro Center at Korfos Bay. Works from June to September.

The N/NNE Meltemi arrives fully onshore at Ftelia, with no protection. The open fetch from the northern Cyclades (Tinos, Syros) generates powerful and constant wind of 20-30 knots in summer, with peaks to 35+. Waves build with the fetch, reaching 1-2m in strong Meltemi. Wind is reinforced by hills surrounding the bay. Very reliable season from June to September.
Powerful waves up to 2m — impact risk. Dangerous shore-break on landing. Very strong wind regularly exceeding 30 knots. Gusts from hills. Rocks in some bay areas. Current. Demanding spot reserved for advanced wave riders.
