Lambi is a kitesurfing spot on the north coast of Kos, just west of Kos Town (the island capital). This urban beach benefits from the onshore Meltemi from the north, offering accessible conditions for intermediate riders. Proximity to town makes the spot very convenient with all services within reach (restaurants, accommodation, transport). However, the beach is also heavily frequented by tourists and swimmers in summer, requiring respectful cohabitation.
Lambi works with the onshore N/NNW Meltemi. The riding area is open to the Aegean Sea with fetch from the Turkish coast. Water is shallow near shore but depth increases more quickly than at Tingaki. Cohabitation with swimmers is the main challenge — favor less crowded areas of the beach and ride offshore. Some kite schools operate on site. The spot suits intermediate riders able to manage beachfront traffic.
Aegean Sea between Kos and Turkey, 22-26°C in summer. 2mm shorty or lycra. Sandy to pebbly bottom depending on zone. Shallow water for the first meters then gradual depth. Moderate to strong chop depending on Meltemi strength. The fetch from Turkey (~15km) generates regular chop when wind is well established.

Open all year round
Urban parking at Lambi, with several options along the coastal road and side streets. Free roadside spaces but limited in high season. Beachfront hotel parking also accessible. The spot is easily reachable by bike or on foot from Kos Town (1-2 km).
Heavy tourist traffic — cohabitation with swimmers, pedal boats, jet-skis. Strictly respect marked swimming zones. Beach infrastructure (sunbeds, umbrellas) limiting launch/landing zones. Meltemi can suddenly build to 25+ knots. Proximity to Kos Town port — do not venture eastward. Strong summer sun exposure.
Lambi receives the Meltemi from N/NNW directly on its north coast, onshore to side-onshore. Wind is well channeled by the strait between Kos and the Turkish coast (Bodrum). Typical strength of 15-25 knots in summer, with good consistency. The classic daily cycle applies: building toward noon, peaking in afternoon, dropping in evening. Proximity to Kos Town can create slight disturbances from beachfront buildings. Season from June to September.
