Macinaggio is a kitesurf and wingfoil spot located at the northern tip of Cap Corse, near the picturesque small port of the same name. Sheltered by the cape headland, the beach looks east towards the Italian coast and benefits from south-easterly thermal winds.
A relatively wild and quiet spot, little known beyond local riders. With 1,276 kiteable hours per year, it's a solid wind destination especially in spring and summer. South-east winds can rise quickly and forcefully in this area — small kites recommended in gusty conditions.
An ideal complement to Barcaggio (10 km to the north-west) for riders exploring the extreme north of the cap.

The village of Macinaggio is accessible via the D80, the corniche road around Cap Corse. Parking available at the port and along the beach. From Bastia: approximately 45 minutes via the east coast of the cap.
Offshore risk: The westerly winds that sometimes blow in the Cap Corse area are offshore on this east-facing beach. Never ride alone in these conditions.
Strong SE gusts: When the south-easterly blows strongly, the wind can build rapidly. Use smaller kites and never ride alone.
Remote location: Limited services nearby. Emergency services can take time to reach this area.
The spot works primarily on a South-East thermal that sets up in the afternoon in summer, and on West winds that sometimes affect the east side of Cap Corse.
⚠️ The SE thermal can be very powerful in this area — "prepare small kites for the Cap" as local riders say, the wind can climb fast and high. Morning winds often blow harder than afternoon on this coastline.
