Holnis is located on the peninsula of the same name, at the extreme north of the German Baltic coast, in the Flensburger Förde — just a few kilometers from Danish spots. Gently sloping sandy beach, standing area up to 150m. Classified as an "east wind" spot — one of the rare German spots that works perfectly in E and SE. In summer, thermal winds allow unexpected sessions. Active local community: Fördekiter e.V. (foerdekiter.yooco.de), with webcam and weather station directly at the spot. Generally flat to slightly choppy water — waves only in strong and sustained SE. Holnis weather station = reliable reference for the entire Flensburger Förde.
Fördekiter e.V. — local association for all kiters of the Flensburger Förde, live webcam and weather station at the spot. Website: foerdekiter.yooco.de. Surfschule Wassersport Holnis: lessons and equipment rental.

Wind specificities
Classified as an east wind spot: works from WNW to SSE, best direction SE (wind reinforced by Venturi effect in the Außenförde, less gusty). SE is fully onshore. Venturi effect in the bay during east winds. Thermals possible May–September. Low pressure systems bring west winds — in that case, prefer Schausende (opposite shore).
