Saint-Pierre-Quiberon - Penthièvre (Les Palissades) is the ocean side of the Quiberon peninsula isthmus, one of the most exposed kitesurf spots in Morbihan. Full Atlantic exposure with dominant south to northwest winds and significant swell. FFVL-labelled spot. In summer (mid-June to mid-September), the kite zone is strictly delimited — access outside the designated area is forbidden. Intermediate level.
Access from Saint-Pierre-Quiberon. In summer: kite only in the designated buoyed zone — mandatory. Off-season: free access on the ocean beach. Best conditions: southwest to northwest giving cross-onshore conditions. The Quiberon peninsula isthmus creates a very narrow strip of land — be aware of the bay side downwind.
Open all year round
Intermediate
Full Atlantic exposure with southwest to northwest swell. Sandy beach with some rocky sections. Strong tidal currents. The isthmus position means if you drift downwind you can end up in the bay — always maintain upwind position.
Southeast, south, southwest to northwest — wide window on this west-facing ocean beach. The narrow isthmus can create wind acceleration effects. Southwest is the dominant productive direction with full Atlantic fetch.
