The Sillon du Talbert is one of the most spectacular natural landmarks of the Côtes d'Armor — a 3km sand and gravel spit extending from Larmor-Pleubian into the sea, separating the Trieux estuary from the open sea. A wild and exposed kite and windsurf spot with consistent wind from multiple directions, popular with experienced riders seeking isolation. The site attracts 100,000 visitors/year and is a protected natural reserve. Access only at low tide — plan your session accordingly.
No permanent kite school on site. Natural site managed by the Maison du Littoral (Pleubian) — check opening periods and tide schedule before visiting. Contact Trégor Kite (tregorkite.com) for supervised sessions in the area.
Access: from Pleubian, direction Larmor-Pleubian, park at Place Abbé Le Floc'h near the church. Check tide times at the Maison du Littoral (on the descent to the spit). Follow marked paths — do not deviate. Only at low tide or start of low tide. Allow 3h15 to walk the full length. Do not go beyond the tip on a rising tide.

Extreme tidal environment — the Sillon is a 3km sand and gravel spit that floods completely at high tide. Never engage on the spit on a rising tide — risk of being trapped with no escape. Always check tide times at the Maison du Littoral before heading out. Strong tidal currents on both sides of the spit (Trieux estuary to the east, open sea to the west). Protected natural site: do not collect stones or disturb vegetation — nesting birds (terns, oystercatchers). Kite: strong and variable wind due to the exposed position — advanced riders only.
Very exposed position — wind from N, NE, W and NW all consistent. Existing wind rose indicates NE, E, W and NW as favourable directions. Wind can be strong and gusty due to the spit's exposed geometry. No shelter possible — experienced riders only. Tidal currents create chop on both flanks.
