Beginner

Flat freshwater lake — no waves, no current, no shorebreak. Very shallow (stand-up depth) for a very long distance from shore. Sandy and pebbly bottom (shoes recommended). Perfect for learning and freestyle progression. The flattest water surface in the Biscarrosse area.

Parking at the Mayotte campsite entrance. Access to the spot on foot only via the path around the campsite. Campsite guests have direct beach access. Beach bar open in season.

North-northwest thermal wind builds reliably from 2pm to 7pm in summer — typically 12 to 22 knots. The lake's surrounding pine forest creates clean laminar airflow. Excellent for long downwind runs and flat water freestyle. Very predictable on hot sunny days.
