Mayotte is a small sandy beach on the Lac de Cazaux et de Sanguinet (fresh water), accessed on foot via a path around the campsite. Very shallow water for a long distance — ideal for learning, twin-tip beginners and tiki. Not suitable for foil or wave riding. The H2O school uses this spot for introductory sessions. Wide open space for safe learning. Bar on the beach. FFVL-labelled spot.
Access on foot only — walk around the Mayotte campsite. Parking at the campsite entrance. Guests at the campsite have direct access. Launch from the sandy beach and ride downwind across the flat lake. Return walk upwind along the shore. North-northwest thermal builds from 2pm to 7pm.
Flat freshwater lake — no waves, no current, no shorebreak. Very shallow (stand-up depth) for a very long distance from shore. Sandy and pebbly bottom (shoes recommended). Perfect for learning and freestyle progression. The flattest water surface in the Biscarrosse area.

Parking at the Mayotte campsite entrance. Access to the spot on foot only via the path around the campsite. Campsite guests have direct beach access. Beach bar open in season.
Some poorly placed trees near the launch — watch lines during takeoff. Very shallow water for a long distance — good for safety but foiling not recommended close to shore. Access on foot only — heavy equipment requires effort.
North-northwest thermal wind builds reliably from 2pm to 7pm in summer — typically 12 to 22 knots. The lake's surrounding pine forest creates clean laminar airflow. Excellent for long downwind runs and flat water freestyle. Very predictable on hot sunny days.
