Overview

La Coudoulière — the most famous wave spot in the Var. Located between the Coudoulière port and Cap Nègre in Six-Fours-les-Plages. Right-handers exclusively — starboard tack for jumping, port tack for surfing. The locals are very impressive at it. Nice onshore spot, also very good for jumping. Works best in NW. Also works in W or SW but more onshore surf. Across from the spot: Mafana Zen Café for a drink after your session.

Access: between the Coudoulière port and Cap Nègre, Six-Fours-les-Plages. Small parking with 2m height barrier — arrive early on weekends. NW: best conditions, clean right-hand waves. W: works, onshore surf. SW: works, much more onshore. Across: Mafana Zen Café. Other spots in the area: Brutal Beach (500m), Le Brusc (1 km south).

Hazards
Bottom with sharp rocks and sea urchins — BOOTIES essential. Shallow water (~50 cm on the reef) — be careful with falls. Breakwater nearby — current that pulls towards the port in case of trouble (can save you but intimidating). Narrow launch area, surf-mode start skimming over rocks. Very crowded spot — the crowd is the main challenge.
