Merville-Franceville-Plage is a FFVL-approved kitesurf spot (Calvados), east of the Orne estuary near Ouistreham. The wide beach catches winds from a broad arc — North, North-East, East, South-East and South. At high tide (5m+), a 500m-wide rip channel fills and allows riding in all wind directions.

Important: the last 300m of beach to the west are now closed by hunting reserve order. Do not drift toward the Merville-Franceville port and channel. Watch out for thorny vegetation in the dunes, hunters, fishermen, and sailing school activity. Access via the D514 from Caen/Ouistreham toward Cabourg.
