Morgat (Plage du Ris) is the main sheltered kitesurf beach on the Crozon peninsula, on the eastern face of the peninsula facing the Baie de Douarnenez. On the left (south), the water is flat and sheltered by the Île de l'Aber.
Flat water, safe, 10km of bay. Avoid July/August — too busy. Port de Morgat to the north — keep clear at all times.
Kitesardin School — uses Morgat / Plage du Ris as a school spot in S/SE/SW wind. WestGliss (Ronan Eveno) — another kite school based on the Crozon peninsula.
Access from Crozon direction Morgat, Plage du Ris. Car park behind the beach. Launch on the beach only. School spot for Kitesardin (S/SE/SW wind) and WestGliss. Zodiac assistance available with Kitesardin.
No school sessions in July/August — too crowded. Respect the bathing zones.
Baie de Douarnenez — 10km of flat, sheltered water. Sandy bottom, quickly deep. To the left (south), extra shelter from the Île de l'Aber creates an even flatter zone.
