Baie de Goulven is a beginner kitesurf spot on the north Finistère coast, a wide sheltered bay that dries almost completely at low tide. Flat water in south to northwest winds. The bay fills from mid-tide and gives excellent flat water conditions — ideal for beginners and foiling. Part of a protected natural area. Best season April to October.
Sessions viable only from mid to high tide — the bay dries completely at low tide. Access from the D10 road between Goulven and Kerlouan. Park carefully — some areas on the bay edge are soft. Best wind: south to northwest giving cross to cross-onshore conditions. Respect all environmental access rules.
Completely flat water when the bay fills. Sandy and muddy bottom — shallow throughout. Sessions only viable from mid to high tide. No swell inside the bay. Excellent foiling conditions. The bay drains very quickly after high tide — plan your session carefully.

South to northwest gives cross-shore to onshore conditions on this north-facing bay. Southwest and west are the most reliable windows. Summer thermal cycle builds from noon. The bay can create local wind effects — sometimes stronger inside than offshore forecasts suggest.
