Spot de Pointe de Saire - Val de Saire (CNPS Base)

Pointe de Saire - Val de Saire (CNPS Base)

Pointe de Saire - Val de Saire (CNPS Base)

Overview

The Pointe de Saire is the most prized spot of the CNPS community and the base of the Val de Saire sailing club, located at Jonville (commune of Réville). The CNPS club is right on site with a security boat, lawn for rigging, and full community support. The spot is polyvalent: flat water by SE to SW, waves by NE to E, freeride by N to NW.

The point's geometry allows a wide wind range — almost all directions except pure N. NE (falling tide): nice small to medium waves. E and SE: waves regardless of tide. W: flat, expert-only (progressive current carries offshore). SW: choppy. The CNPS documents and monitors all Val de Saire spots. Seals can be seen sheltering on the beach during NE cartouches.

Wind specificities

NE (falling tide): beautiful waves for wave riders. E and SE: waves regardless of tide. S to SW: choppy, usable but not ideal. W: flat — expert only, offshore current toward open sea on the descending tide. NW and N: wind shadow here — head to Quinéville or Collignon. Seals sometimes visible sheltering on the beach during NE wind surges.

Hazards

W and SW wind: descending current carries toward the open sea — experienced riders only in these conditions. Less than 5m tidal range needed for safe kite launch. By NE: waves can be significant (expert wave riders). SE creates choppy disturbed conditions. High tide with large coefficients: current is strong. Respect the CNPS safety rules.
