Pentrez is a large sandy beach on the southern shore of the Baie de Douarnenez, on the commune of Saint-Nic. About 10km of navigable water, shallow close to shore, quickly deep further out — ideal for foiling. A wide glide zone is delimited by buoys, shared with two char à voile operators (no cohabitation issues).
At low tide: beach over 300m wide, excellent launch area. At high tide: very restricted launch/landing zone — plan accordingly. Kitesardin school uses this spot regularly.
Kitesardin School (Philippe Abgrall, BEPJEPS) — uses Pentrez as a school spot. Société des Régates de Douarnenez (SKTeam) — kite and wingfoil club.
Free parking along the beach. Campings and restaurants nearby. Kite zone buoyed in the middle of the beach. At high tide (especially spring tides) the rigging/landing area is very tight — anticipate the tide before arriving. Water quickly gets deep from shore — no hazardous shallows. Shared with landkite operators (no conflict). Open year-round.

Very wide wind window: south, southwest, west, northwest, north all work well. The large Baie de Douarnenez gives good fetch in southwest to northwest conditions. Summer thermal northwest is the primary wind. South and southeast provide offshore conditions — use only for experienced riders. Consistent and reliable spot thanks to the bay orientation.
