Nantouar (Trestel beach, Trévou-Tréguignec) is a 800m sandy beach on the Côte de Granit Rose, the reference surf and kite spot of the sector. Excellent conditions for wind sports when a sustained W wind enters — large sandy beach with significant Atlantic swell. Trestel Surf Club and Trégor Kite active on site. Best season for kite/windsurf: autumn and winter (W wind, less crowded). To avoid in summer: over-frequented by surfers and swimmers.
Trégor Kite (tregorkite.com) — local kite school active on Trestel. Trestel Surf Club — surf lessons and coaching on site. Trégor Kite also offers wingfoil stages at Port-Blanc nearby.
All tides possible except high tide above coefficient 80 (no beach). Best: low to mid tide — more beach space, less disrupted wind. Large car park on site. Trestel Surf Club and Trégor Kite school on the beach.
Open all year round
Intermediate
Dominant and ideal: W and sustained SW/NW — wind enters cleanly from the Atlantic. Thespot2be: minimum WSW for correct, non-gusty conditions. At high tide: wind disrupted regardless of direction. Not suitable for beginners. Good wave conditions in W/NW swell — beach break preferred by windsurfers and experienced kitesurfers.
Rocks under the leeward side (low tide, big coefficients) — stay in the sandy central zone. No kite/windsurf in summer (July-August): overcrowded with surfers and swimmers. Designated surf school and swimming zones marked by flags — strictly respect. At high tide above coefficient 80: no beach — launch impossible. Out of season: windsurfers/kitesurfers recommended over summer for safer conditions.
