Overview

Saint-Clément-des-Baleines is a kitesurf spot at the western tip of the Île de Ré (Charente-Maritime), near the famous lighthouse (Phare des Baleines). This is the most exposed point of the island, fully open to the Atlantic with a dominant West wind blowing directly onshore.

Ocean spot with Atlantic swell and tidal exposure. This wild western tip of Île de Ré offers powerful and consistent wind conditions. The Phare des Baleines lighthouse is a landmark. Experienced riders recommended given the ocean exposure and currents at this exposed cape.
